Jiangsu University of Science and Technology is a full-time regular institution of higher education located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. Established by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and administered by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, it is jointly developed by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited. The university is recognized as a high-level institution in Jiangsu's university development initiative, an excellent institution in the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching assessment, and a participant in the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program."

As of November 2023, the university operates across three campuses—Changshan, Mengxi, and Zhangjiagang—along with a Shanghai office, covering a total area of 3,979 mu. It comprises 22 colleges offering 74 undergraduate programs. The university is home to four postdoctoral research centers, five first-level doctoral degree programs, 25 first-level master's degree programs, and 14 professional master's degree categories. It employs over 2,600 faculty and staff members, with a student population of more than 23,000 undergraduate students, over 5,700 doctoral and master's students, and more than 700 international students pursuing bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Additionally, the university hosts five national defense-oriented key disciplines.

江苏科技大学位于江苏省镇江市，是由江苏省人民政府举办、江苏省教育厅主管的普通全日制高等学校，由江苏省人民政府分别与国家国防科技工业局、中国船舶集团有限公司共建，是江苏高水平大学建设高校，教育部本科教学工作水平评估优秀学校，教育部卓越工程师教育培养计划高校。

截至2023年11月，学校现有镇江长山、梦溪校区和张家港校区以及上海办事处，占地3979亩；设有22个学院，开设本科专业74个；现有博士后科研流动站4个，一级学科博士学位授权点5个，一级学科硕士学位授权点25个，硕士专业学位授予类别14个；有教职工2600余人；在校普通本科生23000余人，博士、硕士研究生5700余人，本、硕、博学历留学生700余人；现有国家国防特色学科5个。
